Climate Change and Global Local Know-How Technology Push
Dear All
I would humbly ask for input and perhaps discussion on the need to find, recognize and help grow local technology innovation and development especially in the Eastern European countries. My current work is to develop environmental research projects with researchers from these regions through an international organization. In the last 5 year of work I have traveled to most of the CIS states and can attest to the wealth of intelligence and insight of the local researchers on the technologies that will help improve lives of their people, especially with regard to changes from climate change. However the greatest barrier is not just funding but awareness within their own community and sense of recognizing that local solutions can often times is the most effective.
Since Agenda 21 movement, regional and local based awareness has been brought to the attend of global organizations, however now I think we need to connect the regions and local communities back into the fold of the global discussion and this time provide feedback mechanisms.
Such mechanisms will help them access grants, information and training to further many of the local technology solutions. I would very much appreciate any interest in further input and suggestions in this matter and of course critiques on this matter.
